Introduced in 1991, the Glock 23 is essentially a G19 chambered in
.40 S&W. As a Glock design, the G23 relies on extensive internal
safeties but lacks any kind of manual safety or decocking lever. The G23
fires from a 13rd magazine, but can also use the G22′s standard 15rd
magazine.
In 1998, the G23 and G22 replaced the SIG-Sauer P226/228 as the FBI’s issue weapons.
